Lin Qing-sheng

He left mainstream broadcasting and based his work in Guangrong; the microphone stayed, and so did the bookstore.

In a bright striped shirt and hat, Lin Qing-sheng speaks into a handheld microphone inside the bookstore, with shelves and the long table behind him.

Lin Qing-sheng is a two-time Golden Bell radio award recipient. After leaving mainstream broadcasting he based his work in Guangrong Village, also known as Rinahem, in Shoufeng, Hualien, where he still produces audio, podcasts, and radio programmes.

He runs Fengsheng Bookstore there and calls it a 無害的空間, a space intended to do no harm, independent of powerful commercial interests, where people can gather and get something moving in the community. There is no minimum spend, children reach for comics and ghost stories, and outside production work helps pay for the room.
