Why this order

A glass is an everyday object in your hand; a room of them becomes a landscape of light. Choose colours at Spring Pool, dinner near the City God Temple, then a slower pace beside the moat.

Your afternoon and evening

15:00–16:30 Spring Pool; 17:30–18:45 dinner; 19:00 moat. The studio closes at 17:30; the café at 17:00.

Spring Pool is about 15 minutes from Hsinchu railway station; finish near the moat and walk back to the station.

  1. Stop 1

    Spring Pool Glass Studio, Hsinchu

At 15:00, browse glass and objects. Sit down before the café closes at 17:00 if you want a drink: walk-in seating, one drink each minimum, cash only. Glassmaking requires separate payment and booking; browsing does not.

Right now:Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:30; closed Mondays. Arrive before 5pm for the café.

About one kilometre / 15 minutes from TRA Hsinchu Station

  2. Stop 2

City God Temple streets: rice noodles, meatballs or a spring roll

Walk — About 1.5 km from Spring Pool; allow 25 minutes, or take a taxi.

Around 17:30, find a stall with seats in the old city. Choose something each and share. You do not need to queue at every famous stall. Menus and closing days belong to individual vendors.

  3. Stop 3

The moat: a walk after dinner

Walk — About 600 m; allow ten minutes.

At 19:00, walk towards the East Gate and moat. Talk about a glass colour you liked—or keep whatever conversation is already good. The outdoor walk is free.
