Take Kaohsiung Bus E28 to Meinong station, then allow 25 minutes for the 1.5km walk. Follow the signs behind Jinan Hall.

Behind Jinan Hall, this family workshop handles the bamboo frame and the painted paper canopy. Look at the finished umbrellas, choose one, or phone ahead to arrange a painting session. Through that small doorway, you can find a souvenir with a backbone.

Come between 10:00 and 17:00. Browsing is free; painting and purchases come out of your own pocket. The address is 47 Minquan Road, Meinong. From Kaohsiung Bus's Meinong station, give your legs 25 minutes for the 1.5km walk.
