About 4.8km by taxi from Hualien station; allow 15 minutes.

At 4 Wenfu Road, Hualien Art Museum reopened after renovation in February 2024. Local and visiting artists take turns in the first-floor galleries, while Topologies of Beauty, the permanent collection display, holds the second floor. Since you've come to the seaside part of town, spare a little of that sea-breeze time for sculpture and painting.

Open Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00; closed Mondays, national holidays and announced changeovers. Admission is an agreeable NT$20, concessions NT$10; Hualien residents and other eligible visitors enter free. A paid ticket also gets you into the nearby Stone Sculpture Museum that day. Check the museum calendar for exceptional closures before setting out.
