Walk into the rock group and find out how small you become.
The moon has been reduced to a little bulb between two enormous pink-purple rocks. In Hualien Travel's photograph, the boulders take almost the whole sky. ENESS's Iwagumi Air Scape puts 19 inflatable forms on Sunrise Boulevard; the tallest reaches 13 metres.
The rough-looking surfaces are held up by air. Walk among them and touch gently: light and sound change with visitors' movements. After dark, the rocks glow from within. The city installation runs through October 12, daily noon–22:00, with free admission.
Find section F of Sunrise Boulevard, near Chongqing Road. The map brings you to the boulevard; continue toward its Chongqing Road end for the rock group. Allow about fifteen minutes by taxi from Hualien Station. The next stop is Danongdafu in Guangfu, beginning October 23; there is no exhibition between the two runs.
