Banqiao, New Taipei · Taiwan–Japan–Korea art exchange

Prism14+ · New Taipei Gallery

Chen Hui-Ming’s《彼處》puts a ruined arch in a misted landscape. See it in the Taiwan–Japan–Korea exchange at New Taipei Gallery, through October 26.

A broken pointed stone arch and vegetation rise on the left of a mauve-grey fog-filled landscape. A faint square structure stands in the distance, with rubble at the lower right.

One foggy image opens a visit to ten artists from Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

A broken pointed arch rises on the left of Chen Hui-Ming’s《彼處》. Foliage climbs the stone; a square shape is barely visible through the mauve-grey fog farther back. The arch gives the eye something to hold while the rest of the landscape remains difficult to place. The gallery describes a work of slowly changing images, where mist conceals the distance and lets forms emerge over time.

In Where We See, PRISM brings ten artists from Taiwan, Japan and Korea together through painting, moving images and mixed media. The exhibition ends October 26; entry is free.
