Give the gap before your train to Taiwanese comics. Browse the ground-floor bookshop in a home for people making them.

Two adjoining old buildings at 36 and 38 Huayin Street make up Taiwan Comic Base. Windows of different sizes turn the facade into something like a comics page. Inside, the ground-floor bookshop is a place to browse Taiwanese original comics near the city's main transport hub.

Exhibitions, talks and creators' working spaces occupy the floors above. The third-floor workspace is for members with reservations; the bookshop is the casual stop. Check each programme's own registration before heading upstairs for an event.
