Follow the work into Chiayi's everyday buildings; give one side of town a proper half day.

A shirt stretches across the storeys of an old Changrong Street house. People write along its hem. Above Yongchang's grain shop, a miniature train carrying light travels among the furniture of a family living room. Art Week Chiayi puts seven works in seven places, drawing their former trades, residents and objects into the work.

North: a clothesline, timber, coffee and somebody's living room

Find Loremipsum's five giant garments on Changrong Street, then walk to three unfinished timber structures by 羅又睿 in the Experimental Wood Workshop courtyard. At MUGN, East Lin brings temple-roof ceramic craft into mountain and plant forms, inside what was Lin Yu-shan's father's framing shop. Finish upstairs at Yongchang, giving CHANG, PO-CHIEH's《家庭式風景:3667》a full admission window.

Take the northern walk: four stops, three to four hours ↗

East: a tree, the fall of grain, then tea

Begin at Showa J18 in Chiayi Park, where 楊水源 responds to a fallen casuarina that was removed from the site. Walk to Pocket Party, a former rice mill: 蔡寧 uses nets, grain and projection to retrace the grain's descent through the building. End at SWAYTEA, where 江婕妤's indigo fabric carries memories of Xingye New Village and Nantian Market. Stay for tea if you like.

Take the eastern walk: three stops, around three hours ↗

The seven exhibitions are free November 1–15. Seven artist-led visits run November 9–13 at NT$100 per session with advance registration. Coffee, tea and workshops are separate purchases. The Art Weekend Market runs November 14–15, 11:00–17:00, in the old prison's wooden staff-quarter area on Lane 134, Weixin Road; pair it with the Experimental Wood Workshop.
