A warmly lit old room: antique sewing machines on wooden tables, transparent text panels hanging above, worn walls behind.

Read a passage, then look down at an antique sewing machine.

In the exhibition photograph, transparent panels of writing hang against worn walls. Antique sewing machines stand on wooden tables below them. I'd like to read a passage there, then look down at the machine and resist the temptation to try a pedal.

《BEYOND THE ORDER 訂單之外》is at 驛前社, formerly the 新永勝 sewing-machine shop founded in the 1960s. The team has researched the site's history through oral interviews and objects. Ten literary works now occupy the shop's historical space as part of Creative Taichung's Design HUB programme.
