Read Keelung's working night through its fish market, streets and a meal.
Your Saturday night in Keelung could start in a bookshop and finish over fish at two in the morning. Sea To See Bookafé's October 24 walk follows the working city after dark: fish identification at Kanziding, stories from the surrounding streets, then a meal cooked from the market's catch.
Professor 黃之暘 leads the fish-identification group, while local guide 陳顥樺 leads the city-history group. Twenty participants are divided into two groups by registration order. The cooking and late meal take place at 山海精事務所, 2F, 8 Xiaoyi Road. The organiser's invitation photograph shows raincoats gathered around a fish stall; this is a working market, with wet floors and loading vehicles.
Meet at Sea To See Bookafé on Ren'er Road between 22:40 and 22:50 on Saturday, October 24. The event runs 22:50–02:00, ending on Sunday, October 25. NT$990 includes insurance; registration closes October 22 at 19:00 and there is no registration on arrival. Ask the organiser about language support if you need an English-speaking guide.
Wear slip-resistant, water-resistant shoes and bring a jacket and light raincoat. Leave heels and flip-flops out of this date. Plan your return transport or a place to stay before booking: the finish is after midnight. Arrive earlier for a bookshop browse; the store's normal Saturday hours run 11:00–02:00, but that does not admit you to the booked walk.
