A question for the moon: poetry and postcards at Kishu An

On October 18, 煮雪的人 takes questions by postcard at Taipei Poetry Festival’s market, then answers them by hand.

Buddy Lien · Kishu An, Taipei

Moon Post Office postcards lie stacked on a pale surface, with spaces for a question from Earth and a reply from the moon; the reverse offers online or postal replies.

Bring a question and receive a handwritten answer from the poet.

The card has two headings: a question from Earth and an answer from the moon. Beneath them is a great deal of blank paper. 煮雪的人’s photograph shows a stack waiting to be written on, with checkboxes on the reverse for a paper reply or an answer on his social accounts.

At the market, collect a Moon Post Office postcard from the poet, write your question and put it into the on-site mailbox. After the market he will handwrite an answer. If you choose paper, it returns to the address you provide; if you choose online, he will publish the question and answer without your personal details. You can choose both. Postage is waived.

The market brings 32 poets to Kishu An’s outdoor area on October 18, 13:00–18:00, with free entry. Leave time to browse books and meet the people who write them. You could each bring a question and keep it to yourselves, then compare the replies when they arrive.
