Half a century of Taiwan in four categories. Which pictures belong in more than one?

Taiwan Panorama has spent fifty years photographing Taiwan for its pages. For the anniversary, the magazine has brought those pictures to West 2 Hall at Huashan, the old third distillation building (第三乾餾場).

The show, Taiwan in Focus, sorts half a century into four themes: everyday life; public infrastructure and resilience; democracy and freedom; and Taiwan abroad. The categories are broad enough to argue with, which is half the fun. As you go, consider which pictures could sit under more than one heading, and which heading you would file them under yourself.

Free entry, October 9–19, 2026, daily 10:00–18:00. West 2 Hall, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, No. 1, Section 1, Bade Road, Zhongzheng, Taipei. Huashan says the park entrance is about 3 minutes on foot from Zhongxiao Xinsheng MRT Exit 1, or about 5 minutes from Shandao Temple Exit 6.
