Why this order

Begin on Jianji Road when the market opens at 11:00. Find a book to take home; on Saturday, make time for the afternoon talks and music, then explore the adjoining arts market around the cultural park.

Plan it

Allow about three hours; that is our suggested pace. The book market runs 11:00–18:00 both days; Saturday has consecutive stage sessions from 13:30 to 15:30.

From Chaozhou railway station, allow nine minutes for the 585-metre walk to the Japanese-era historical-building cultural park. The book market is along nearby Jianji Road; follow the organizer’s poster map.
