A Hsinchu glass afternoon: foam, furnaces, Spring Pool

Windlivehouse → Glass Museum → Spring Pool

White glass forms run diagonally over grey concrete. Porous stems rise from rounded discs, one opens into a hollow cup, and long shadows fall to the right.

Why this order

See what glass can become, then meet the city's making history. Finish at Spring Pool, where the same material becomes something to use and live with.

Plan it

Suggestion: Windlivehouse at 13:00, Glass Museum at 14:15, Spring Pool at 15:30 until about 16:45. Adjust for how long you want with the work; Spring Pool's café closes at 17:00.

Allow 15 minutes for the 823-metre walk from TRA Hsinchu to Windlivehouse, then three minutes for the 140 metres between venues. From HSR Hsinchu, take the Liujia line to TRA Hsinchu first.

  1. Stop 1

    Start with unruly material

    Windlivehouse · GLASS AGE

Kojiro lets glass foam, expand and collapse; Sasaki burns plants away, leaving ash and bubbles. Allow an hour to follow these changes, longer if you want.
