Why this order

Start with art at NTMoFA, browse the old dormitories at Shenji New Village, then spend the evening at Citizen Square. Have dinner before the music and choose a set from the nightly programme.

Your afternoon and evening

Art 14:30–16:00; Shenji shops 16:15–17:15; dinner 17:30–18:30; arrive at the square about 18:45 for 19:00. Shenji is 633 m from the square: allow ten minutes walking, with dinner along the way. October 23–25 starts at 17:30; move dinner earlier for the first set.

For the full afternoon, take a bus to NTMoFA or Dadun Cultural Centre. For the evening alone, Taiwan Tourist Shuttle 11 skips Citizen Square during the festival: alight at Meicun–Gongyi Road, then allow five minutes for the 271 m walk. Check live bus departures for the return to the railway station.

  1. Stop 1

    National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts

    Arrive at 14:30 and choose one or two current exhibitions. General admission is free; closes at 17:00 Tuesday–Friday and 18:00 on weekends, with Monday closed. The B1 word-play exhibition is another starting point; use the museum calendar for the current programme.

    Shenji New Village: small shops in old dormitories

    Walk — About 700 m from NTMoFA; allow 12–15 minutes.

    Browse the old dormitories around 16:15. Pick an object you would not normally choose. Buying is optional; tenant hours vary and weekend markets are not daily.

  3. Stop 3

    17:30: dinner before the music

    Walk — Shenji to Citizen Square is 633 m; allow ten minutes walking, with dinner along the way.

    Choose a seated meal around Meicun or Gongyi Road and check the menu. The jazz festival has no food stalls this year; the nearby PARK2 food festival is a separate event. Food follows each restaurant or vendor's menu.

  4. Stop 4

    Citizen Square: the jazz main stage

    Citizen Square, 163-1 Gongyi Road. Main-stage entry is free, with a half-hour interval between the usual evening sets. Chen Lu Hall concerts are ticketed separately; use the nightly programme for performers.
