Why this order
You do not need to memorise an author’s life to enjoy a literature exhibition. Pick a line that catches you and take it to dinner. Along Hai’an Road and Shennong Street, words give way to signs, windows and the scale of old houses.
Your afternoon and evening
15:30–17:00 museum; 17:30–18:45 dinner; 19:00–20:00 street walk. Museum time belongs in the afternoon; dinner and night air follow.
Walk 20–25 minutes from Tainan railway station to the museum, or take a short taxi ride. Return from the Hai’an Road area. From October 17, use Exit 1 on Beimen Road for the city centre; allow extra time inside the station for the temporary footbridge between the new underground station and the old station.
