Why this order
If you need an opening subject, choose a book for each other. It can be serious—or wonderfully baffling. Then move to the old-station area for dinner and let the quiet of reading become an evening in town.

15:30–16:45 books; leave at 16:50; 17:30–18:45 dinner; 19:00 walk. Books, drinks, dinner and any performance tickets are paid separately.
The bookshop is about 2.2 km from Taitung Bus Station; a taxi is useful. Dinner is near the central bus station, which is distinct from the railway station outside the centre.

Arrive at 15:30 and take time choosing. Open 14:00–20:00, closed Tuesday. Buy a book or a drink for a reading seat; prices are on the shop’s menu and books.

Stop 2
Tiehua area: a seated dinner
Walk — About 2 km from the bookshop; allow 35 minutes, or taxi in heat or rain.
At 17:30, choose an open restaurant around the old station and Tiehua Road, with a menu you both want. Food and creative spaces are here; markets and performances have scheduled dates. Live music is not guaranteed every night. Meals follow restaurant prices.

Old-station surroundings: finish talking about the books
At 19:00, walk around the district and find a place to pause. For music, check that evening’s programme and ticketing. Without a show, you still have those books to talk about. The original Tiehua Village ended in 2023; check individual venues for today’s performances.
