The museum covers Taiwanese people conscripted into Japanese, Nationalist, and Communist forces, including several armies in the same family history.
On the Qijin shoreline, the park's Flying Home memorial and theme museum mark Taiwanese soldiers mobilised by successive regimes.
Inside are names, belongings, and records of the difficulty of returning home after the war.
It is remote and windy. Allow time for the ferry and the trip south along Qijin.

Public transport
Most visitors take the ferry from Gushan to Qijin, then continue south by bus, taxi, or bicycle. The park is always open; the museum keeps separate hours.
