The Eco-Museum of Books runs through September 6. The indoor rooms close at 18:00 and the outdoor works stay lit until 22:00 in the final week, so it rewards a late-afternoon arrival.

The park was Chung Hsing Paper Mill, built in 1935 and once the largest paper works in Taiwan. After production stopped, Yilan County Government rebuilt the site as a cultural park without smoothing the ruins away: the broken openings, rust, and tall concrete walls are still there.

That scale is what lets large land-art land here. The 2026 Art Maker Festival, The Eco-Museum of Books, spreads bamboo, paper, dyed cloth, and projected text through the sheds and lawns until September 6.

Public transport

From Luodong, take the local train one stop to Zhongli Station and walk about one kilometre, or take a local bus from Luodong Transfer Station to the park stop. For the dusk route, arrive around 16:30–17:00, see the indoor rooms before they close at 18:00, then stay for the lit outdoor works.
