Why this order
A removed tree, a repurposed rice mill and a staff house turned teahouse: three works follow the traces each place holds.
Plan it
Begin at Showa J18 around 13:00, reach Pocket Party around 14:00 and SWAYTEA around 15:00. The two walks total about 2.4 km; leave another hour if you want to sit down for tea.
About 3 km on foot from TRA Chiayi's front station. Take a taxi to Chiayi Park to begin the eastern walk.
Stop 1
Showa J18: the casuarina
A casuarina in Chiayi Park fell and was removed. Artist 楊水源 returns to that tree through new materials and scale around Showa J18, asking how its former presence can still be encountered.
